Keywords Everywhere and seodata.dev both give you Google search volume, CPC and competition, and both have an API and a remote MCP server, but they’re priced and built for different work.
- Keywords Everywhere is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge that shows keyword data next to Google, YouTube, Amazon and Etsy results. Search volume comes from credits on annual plans, starting at $84 a year for 100,000 credits, one credit per keyword, and credits expire after a year. There are no free volume lookups. It covers about 229 countries and adds 12-month trends, backlinks and domain traffic.
- seodata.dev is an API and MCP server built for AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. You get 20 lookups a day without signing up, 50 a day and 500 a month with a free key, and unlimited lookups for $4.99 a month, billed monthly. Every lookup also returns similar keywords with their own volumes, across 50+ countries.
Keywords Everywhere suits people who research inside the browser; seodata.dev suits people who want keyword numbers inside an AI assistant or a script without prepaying a year.

When Keywords Everywhere is the better choice
Keywords Everywhere is the stronger pick if you live in the browser. Its extension puts volume and CPC next to Google, YouTube, Amazon and Etsy results, which seodata.dev doesn’t do. It also covers more ground per account, with backlinks, domain traffic, ranking keywords, People Also Search For and a 12-month trend for each keyword. If you research at high volume, a Bronze plan works out to well under a tenth of a cent per keyword once you’ve prepaid the year.
When seodata.dev is the better choice
seodata.dev fits better when you want keyword numbers inside an AI assistant or a script and would rather not prepay a year to find out whether it helps. Connect the MCP server to Claude or ChatGPT and ask questions in plain language; the assistant looks up the keywords and compares them for you, with similar keywords and their volumes included in every answer. Monthly billing at $4.99 means you can stop when a project ends, and the free tiers cover a lot of occasional research.
As an example of the data, “keywords everywhere alternative” gets about 320 searches a month in the US with a $9.56 CPC, and the similar keywords that come back with it (“alternative to keywords everywhere”, “keywords everywhere free”) show what people are actually comparing.
